Bush
considers the Iraq uranium issue closed.
We understand
the resigned cynicism,
but we're not going to succumb to it. You all know the litany by now. Bush
lied, repeatedly. He's called on it and brushes the issue aside. Says he considers
the matter closed. To throw Bush's own words back in his face,
"Who cares what you think? We're the ones who get to decide!"
Remember Horton Hears a Who (okay--put aside for a moment the fact that the elephant is the good guy in that story) when all of the tiny Whos had to make noise at the same time in order to be heard? We need to make noise. Lots of it. Enough that the media can't ignore us.
We know
what the cynical response is. We've made it ourselves. But the Bush presidency
has been a "long cold lonely winter" for a lot of us, and we need
some hope. So, while there are plenty of places to naysay, how about those
of us who are faithfully fighting the good fight getting together to support
and encourage each other?
